Holland Park Boat Ramp
Holland Park in Hollywood is a nice tree-filled park in Broward county. We visited specifically for the boat ramps, but also found bike paths, nature trails, picnic, facilities, and a waterfront boardwalk and overlook tower.
The park has 3 two-lane boat ramps (unless you're unfortunate enough to arrive when someone is taking the whole space for a single launch!). The ramps are a little different than we're accustomed to, being very steep at the end, so that the truck never gets on a severe incline, but the trailer lands on the steep part, and the boat drop off pretty quickly. There's also a kayak launch, and there are many kayak tours and adventures starting from the park. There's parking for about 40 trailers. Parking is metered - bring cash; I put in a $5 bill and got something like 8 hours. (2009 Update: The meter now accepts credit/debit cards, and it runs about $1 per hour.)
We recommend launching only smaller boats here, nothing over about 26 feet. Be careful launching or pulling out at low tide - the docks are not real long, and if you're not motoring onto your trailer, it can be difficult to keep your boat in line with ropes, particularly if there's wind.
We visited this park on July 4. I was expecting it to be crowded, but there were quite a few parking spaces available, and (presumably) due to the rain, the lot was pretty much empty when we got back. (Holland Park Boat Ramp continued)
