Jimmy Graham Park is a terrible boat ramp! There was plenty of parking and not many people there and I can see why. After going only 1/4th of the way down the ramp during the launch process, the tow vehicle began to slide uncontrollably towards the water. We had to burn serious rubber to get out of there. Even after airing down the tires, we still couldn't launch our small 17 foot boat.
There were empty trailers there so SOMEONE launched, but I didn't see anyone successfully pull out while we were there. I examined the ramp surface to try to determine what the problem was. There wasn't any algae, but the ramp surface seems way too smooth and the "traction lines" are too far apart. We ended up going to Burt Reynolds Park instead. I looked at the ramp surface there and it is much rougher and the traction lines are like five times as dense. Jimmy Graham Park's ramp surface is like a damn skating rink floor.
