I've lived in South Florida for just over 20 years, and I've been to Singer Island well over 100 times, yet somehow I have managed to miss Ocean Reef Park this whole time! I'm guessing this Riviera Beach park may have been recently upgraded, as it is absolutely beautiful! A long boardwalk runs through (and along) the dunes to the wide sandy beach. The 700 feet of beach are well-guarded. Up in the park area there is a picnic pavilion (available by reservation, or really if no one else has reserved it), as well as several single-table picnic areas with grills. There's a small play structure for kids up to age 12, and a restroom building.
The only minor drawback to this beach is probably the same as any other beach this time of year (July) in Florida - tons of sea turtle nests! Certainly not a problem for the endangered turtles, but you'll have to navigate around the nests to find a "base camp" for your day at the beach. Many of the nests look VERY close to being washed away by the surf and erosion - hopefully they'll make it! Just a side note, be sure not to disturb any of the nests if you see them - they're protected by both state and federal laws.
