Gordy Road Recreation Area

Gordy Road Recreation Area in Fort Pierce is mostly used for motorcycle and ATV riding, and mountain biking. There's also a disc golf course. (No, I don't know what disc golf is.) A picnic pavilion and composting restrooms are provided, and there is a small fishing pier (water is stagnant, I promise you wouldn't catch anything). A 1/2 mile interpretive hiking trail runs through the scrubby flatwoods. Future plans include a canoe launch, parking at the disc golf course, and trails leading to Ten Mile Creek Recreation Area (personally, I enjoyed my visit there MUCH more). This park is like a ghost town. The parking lot looked like it hadn't seen a car in years. The paved trails looked unused. It was creepy and post-apocalyptic. The facilities are very nice, you could have a heck of a cookout here, but I think it's just too far out in the middle of nowhere. (Gordy Road Recreation Area continued)
