Apoxee Park

Apoxee Park Apoxee Park in West Palm Beach is what the city is calling an "urban wilderness park", and the title does fit. It's stuck right along major roads and housing developments, but unless you're at a spot where you can see them, you don't even know they're there.

My husband and I visited in March of 2013 for some biking. The Apoxee Recreational Trail connects to over eight miles of trails through other areas, and we biked quite a bit of it, admiring the variety of birds we saw along the way. We encountered only a few other bike-riders, and a hiker or two.

Apoxee Park has restrooms, benches, picnic areas, and wildlife observation areas. Oddly, we found at least half of the boardwalks roped off, victims of a hurricane maybe?

Apoxee Park is open from 7AM to 6PM seven days a week.
