Dale Wimbrow Park

Dale Wimbrow Park Named for writer and radio man Dale Wimbrow, who created the Indian River News newspaper, Dale Wimbrow Park is located near Sebastian in Roseland along the Sebastian River. We visited specifically to launch our boat, but the park also features picnic pavilions (including a large one available by reservation), a fitness trail, and a nice playground. Crazy thing about the playground - all of the equipment is new, but they have two of those cool mechanical digger things from way back when I was a kid like a million years ago - you know, those chunks of metal machinery with horribly uncomfortable seats and two levers that let you scoop up dirt? They never worked very well, but I always loved them.

Anyway, it was an easy launch for our 19-foot boat, and a pleasant trip along the river. The park has restrooms, too - and they were even open!

Dale Wimbrow Park is open every day from 7:30 AM to sunset. There's parking for about 15 trailers.
