Dubois Park and Beach

Dubois Park and Beach May 2014 Update

Dubois Park has undergone quite a transformation over the past few years, most notably with the addition of day docking for boats, with dockage for 17 boats. The restroom facilities were revamped as well, as was the swimming lagoon and adjacent snorkeling lagoon and swimming area. The jetty is as popular as ever for saltwater fishing and sight-seeing. We visited the boat docks on a Friday in May, and the only other boats there were a couple of commercial fishing boats - I can't imagine that will be tolerated for long. As before, there are picnic tables with grills, and a by-reservation-only pavilion.

Dubois Park is open from sunrise to sunset year-round. The swimming areas are guarded from 9AM to 5:20 PM every day from Memorial Day until school starts again in August, at which time they are only guarded on weekends.

Original Article
Dubois Park is situated around the old Dubois pioneer home, and the house itself sits atop an indian mound. This is a great place to bring young children, as a shallow inlet provides a safer guarded swimming environment. Grills and picnic tables are provided, and there is a picnic shelter available by reservation.
