Istokpoga Canal Boat Ramp Area

Istokpoga Canal Boat Ramp Area Istokpoga Canal Boat Ramp Area sits between Okeechobee and Sebring on US 98. The park offers a variety of opportunities for boaters, fishermen, hikers, horseback riders, and picnickers.

We visited this park specifically to launch our boat and access the Kissimmee River (where we saw many alligators and a water moccasin - ACK!). The boat ramp is nice, two lanes, with a central finger pier, and there is parking for 30 trailers. There is a dedicated airboat launch as well, although the law enforcement officer present used the regular ramp.

Two large picnic shelters host larger parties, but there are also 16 single tables with grills. This park also has a trailhead for horseback riding and hiking in the Hickory Hammock Wildlife Management Area. Another unique feature of this park is the bat house on the north side.

Istokpoga Canal Boat Ramp Area is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. There is no fee.

The mapped point takes you just SW of the area - cross the canal and you're there!
