Lake Lytal Park

For years, I wondered where the lake was. Only recently I discovered that Lake Lytal is a person - three people, actually (Lake Sr., Lake Jr., and Lake III). Anyway, regardless of the name, this is one of the most activity-laden parks in Palm Beach County. The main draw is the 50-meter swimming pool (with restrooms, showers, and lockers). A smaller wading pool for the kids is also available. Other water activities include a water slide and a water playground. Out of the water, you have courts for tennis, basketball, raquetball, and handball; and fields for soccer, football, baseball, softball, and eve t-ball. There are great playgrounds and an activity building. The large picnic pavilion is available only with reservations, but there are a bunch of smaller picnic areas with grills. The park is, as most are, open sunrise to sunset, whith the lighted facilities open until 11:00. This park is also the home of the Armed Forces Memorial Park. Fees may apply for various activities.
