Pooch Pines at Okeeheelee Park

Has Fido been cooped up while you've been sunning and funning is Florida? Give him a break, take him over to Pooch Pines! This great dog park, built in 2004, offers five acres of completely fenced areas for dogs (and their humans), two for larger dogs, and one for dogs of smaller build. Each section has a doggie fountain and dispensers for clean-up baggies. Dogs romp and socialize with other dogs - the ones that aren't cowering behind their owners, anyway (like my Chihuahua did), and the owners are good at defusing potential skirmishes (like when I had to scold my Dal). Benches provide sitting areas and a paved path encircles each section. Opportunity for shade is currently minimal, given only one covered seating area, but when the trees are grown up it'll be even better! A paved bathing station is also provided.
