Red Reef Park

Red Reef Park in Boca Raton lies on 67 acres of beautiful ocean-front beach. The park provides a wide array of water-based activities, as well as picnicking and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, which is not to be missed.

Elevated walkways take visitors through lush greenery filled with creatures to the broad sandy beach. Swimming an snorkeling are both popular here, and a friend of mine says this is the best land-access snorkeling in the county. Lifeguards are present daily from 9 to 5.

Fishing is allowed at the park, but not in swimming areas from 9 to 5.

The picnic areas have tables and grills.

Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex covers 20 acres of the park. The natures center is filled with displays and aquariums. Large outdoor aquariums give visitors an up-close look at native sea life. There are also a boardwalk and observation tower.

Admission to the park is free, but a $3 donation is suggested for visiting the nature complex. The park is open from 8AM to 10PM every day. The nature center hours are Monday through Saturday 9AM to 4PM and Sunday 12PM to 4PM.
