South Bay RV Park

Sitting on the shores of Lake Okeechobee adjacent to South Bay Nature Park is South Bay RV Park. From this park you can enjoy freshwater fishing or biking and hiking on the Lake Okeechobee Scenic Trail (side note: I've driven around the entire lake sightseeing more than once, and it's definitely worth the trip). The campground itself offers sites with cable TV, fire pits, shuffleboard courts and horseshoe pits, and a playground. You'll also find standard RV park amenities like a dump station and laundry facilities. The rec hall has internet access. For boaters there's easy access to a boat ramp (operated by the City of South Bay) right across the street; I've never used the ramp, but it's reported to be steep. Also, with the lake levels at their lowest in recorded history, you might want to call ahead before planning to launch your boat.

The campground office is open from 7AM to 8PM from December through April, and 9AM to 5PM May through November.
