The Mall At Wellington Green

I really like the so-called "Wellington Mall". Okay, fine, I like most malls, but I *really* like this one. It's a relative newcomer to the county, joining the likes of the Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, and Gardens Malls, and the Boca Town Centre, in (I think) 2002.

This mall has everything. Seriously. Clothes, food, hair and nail salons, cell phones, appliances, games, jewelry, perfume, and furniture. Yes, furniture! There are four two-level anchors (my favorite is Nordstrom). You'll also find all of the chain favorites (GAP, Forever XXI, Victoria's Secret, Charlotte Russe, Jimmy'z, Casual Corner, August Max, Banana Republic, Guess, The Limited, Brighton Collectibles, and so many more - but I did shed a tear when my Benetton left), plus some cool independent shops.

The food court here is great. I swear it's the only food court in the area with all of its spaces filled. McDonald's, Subway, and Chik-Fil-A; Chinese, Italian, Greek, All-American; whatever you want, it's here. And if not, there is a slew of full-service restaurants to cover those bases - Bamboo Room, Fire of Brazil, TooJays, Rotelli Pizza & Pasta, and Ruby Tuesdays. (If none of those suit your fancy, just outside the mall you'll find Chili's and Macaroni Grill, plus a dozen or so other restaurants within less than a mile.) Also, the food court restrooms are huge, not those tiny and HOTHOTHOT things you try to cram into everywhere else.

A nifty little play area sits at one end of the mall. It's themed as a sort of fruit salad for toddlers to explore - very cool-looking.

The mall puts on a great display at Christmas. The overall decorations are nothing spectacular, but the Santa area is splendid, with great stuff to look at while you wait in the line - you'll enjoy it and so will your antsy kids. In addition, there are several seasonal stores that hit the mall every November, like San Francisco Music Box Company and my favorite, GO! The Game Store.

There's only one thing I can't stand about this mall - the plants are all fake. Huh? It's supposed to have a sort-of upscale appearance. I know real plants are a hassle, but really, they're so much nicer.

The mall is open 10AM to 9PM Monday through Saturday, 11AM to 6PM on Sunday, with extended hours during "The Holidays".
